Daysh Residence – Living Room

Project Description

This project was staged over 10 years – the rebuild/renovation of an Edwardian home. We moved existing walls and added an 8 metre extension to the rear of the building.
The kitchen, family room and laundry were repositioned within the new extension and we incorporated a new powder room. A large “Somerset Maughan” verandah was added to overlook the rear garden.

The front of the house was retained keeping the original staircase, formal living and dining rooms to showcase the architectural integrity of the Edwardian style. The kitchen and bathrooms were redesigned to meet today’s needs for family living.

Design Highlights
  • Tripled the size of kitchen/family living
  • Light filled spaces created by installing sky-lights
  • Bifolds at rear of house provided indoor/outdoor flow
